Födro Flat Gate Slide Valve for bulk materials
Flat Gate Slide Valves for bulk materials are used of advantage where streams of material have to be interrupted abruptly, where containers or silos have to be shut off and where the focus is on a design guaranteeing abrasion resistance together with full cross-sectional area for the passage of the material.
The approved Födro special flat slide valve has been further developed into this new slide valve. Like its predecessor, it is especially suitable for highly abrasive goods. In contrast to the special flat slide valve, however, the goods conveyed cannot pass from the system into the outside when the seal is not pressurized. The standard version is pressure tight for pressures of up to 6 bar. However, pressure to pressurize the seal has to be at least 2 bar higher than the pressure inside the valve housing.
How they work
A slide plate mounted to a pneumatic cylinder shuts off the stream of goods. This can either be done when the material is being conveyed or not. Once the slide plate reaches its final position, an inflatable seal removes the clearance between the valve housing and the slide plate. This ensures absolute tightness for back-pressures of up to 6 bar.
